This may be of interest to folks who don't own RealFlight.

That's awesome. I was able to DL the field, but I can't get the SGII to load up. The program crashes at the "Creating DLL" screen, or whatever it is.

I've even tried going to a simple photo field with an electric plane, starting the program fresh, and trying to get it to load, but it won't.

I think you mean .DDS. It is a large file and takes a while to render. I suggest rebooting the computer and once the computer is fired up try running RealFlight first and importing.

Once it is rendered you shouldn't have that issue again.
Let me know and if it doesn't work I will ask the designer of the plane. I was the test pilot.

You're right, it's the dentist file! I did as you suggested and it worked. Straight outta the box it's AWESOME! I'll probably do some fine tuning to the mixes for my own preferences, and I might even see if I can get my multiplex EVO to talk to RF.

I'm off to do some RF DLG training, as I was unable to fly my blaster today due to monster winds. (for here, anyway)

I just hosted an online session for about an hour. A few people with jets with guns joined me for a while. I managed to pile the SGII into your truck. I really like it; both the third vector field and the SGII are really cool.

You should post a link to this in the handlaunch forum. I think there's a few RF users in there.

You mean ACTUALLY be able to find a thermal that we novices have been unable to do so far?

Nicely done Curtis.

There is a an airfield and glider.
The airfield is titled "Thermal Park Curtis" and the glider is "Red Merle". This is based off of my eSupra but this one has no motor, it's a bungee launched glider.

There is some wind blowing and several thermal generators. If you land into the wind you'll find a landing tape. I placed some hay bales out there to help with getting lined up on the landing tape. Once you've flown it a few times you'll easily get the feel for depth perception and where to line up for your final approach.

I have the launch set so that if you ping off of it well you'll get about 200 feet. It is a simulation and at 400' it's difficult to tell what's happening.

Time to build a real model!

Enjoy

Thanks!

The DL field and the Super Gee have been a lot of fun (I'm still trying to land consistently in the back of the truck ).

Looking forward to playing with the new plane / field!

And thanks again!

Both sailplane and airfield imported and loaded without problems, Curtis; thank you!
Have already had a good play with both and they look like excellent learning tools. I did need to add a fair bit of up trim to stop the sailplane heading for the dirt after launch.
One query for the group: after I diddled with the trim setting on elevator, flight characteristics are fine, but the elevator and aileron trims no longer beep or work - anyone got a clue on what I have done, or how to undo it?
Thanks also for the 'reboot before import' advice - fixed my loading problem as well.
Cheers,
Pete

The Red Merle has been updated a bit more, I will post something soon. I noticed I had some elevator changes with camber changes, so I removed it and have trimmed the model in thermal mode.

I flew a few three minute tasks today and made 2 of the 3 flight times. That is a good sign as it isn't so easy to make the task times. I am still tweaking the thermal generators.

I am glad you folks are enjoying it.

Hi Curtis,

Great job,I like it. I have Real Flight G5 and haven't used it in a while. I need to up grade it to 6.5

Any Idea time wise how long it will be before this gets implemented?

I'll have to get this build stuff off my table and build me a Super Gee after watching your video..

Eddie
