That's a pretty awesome looking boat. I saw you didn't have plans but just sketch it out and figure out the measurements. When doing that how do you determine the ratio of width to length (ie: figuring out the measurements) and power required.

Thank you. I've had a tough time finding plans to go off and wood boats I'd like to make. They mostly seem to be fiberglass these days.

Hi marty
Thanks bud
i figure out how i want the boat to perform then go from there
1st i look at tunnel width and the wing section of the hull then work out how wide i want the sponsons and at what angle (dont like flat ride pads) so use an angled sponson design and stakes are placed to how i want the hull to sit on the water while in motion
Theres alot to take into consideration when designing and building a hull from scratch but some of it is also trial and error with alot of testing and different setups
but so far iv built a few hulls and all of them have performed well or beyond expectation but by no means im an expert at it LOL
I like the challenge more than anything and the builds ,and to build a hull that performs and handles what ever conditions we have

Made 1st hatch for this build, only thin layup to break in the mould but also 1st time test fit and check clearances round the engine ,fits nice and clearance is not an an issue so pretty happy

Also now moulded the bottom of this build, fingers crossed releases ok in a week or so ,then wont be long before laying up and pulling the 1st hull
