CHAOS 600 owners: Who has a Black Widow head on theirs?

I can't get on the Chaos Lounge from here at work, and a post similiar to this is over there.

Anyway, who has a Black Widow head on your Chaos 600?

I have a problem, that may be unique to me, but I doubt it.

This is specifically for those who 3D or sport aerobatic fly thier Chaos:

Did you have an issue getting zero pitch at center collective on your machine?

With my head in the top hole (using the stock Chaos main shaft) I have +7.5 of pitch at center collective. If I move to the center hole on the head, I get almost the opposite, -5'ish.

I think my drive tubes are too long, or maybe my head-height holes are miss-drilled.

Here's some pics:

Did anyone else have this problem?

As you can see, I have a mechanical zero on the links and servos.

I think you need to lengthen the servo to swash links.... when I upgraded one of my helis to FBL I needed to buy new threaded rods since the ones with my FB head were like yours.....anyway, that was with a 450 so it is not your heli but the same issue..... good luck, I hope you get it worked out

This is how my BW adjustment turned out to get 0* at midstick.
The jam nuts keep the adjustment from changing & removes any play in the link.
I have NOT flown this heli yet due to cold weather.
The head is mounted in the second hole on the stock 600e shaft.

Thanks Drev, that's exactly how I'm going to do mine. I have to find some jam nuts, and get through the hollidays, but I can't wait to get it up and running and just fly the damn thing!

Jonathan.
The blackwidow head will sit differently on the 600 than it does the 550.
The problem your running into is that the A-Frame arm aka the elevator is more or less a fixed length. The way the head sits on the 550 it uses the top hole of the head itself. The servo linkage rods are a bit shorter too.

On yours *which looks like the super combo kit* you will probably need to use the center hole then adjust the control rods coming off of the swash to the blade grip accordingly. I never converted my 600 to the dfc type head as I am fine with the origional FBL head.
Hope this helps

I've got my eye on a flybarred Chaos 600 Super Combo for a 700 scale project but they are rarely ever in stock. I'll have to act fast the next time they do!

Mike, give them a call. Sometimes the website doesn't get updated on some items.

ADDITION: CRModels has a Chaos for sale. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1791647

About the elevator "A"arm on the Chaos 600, if you loosen the set screw that secures it to the cross shaft there is adjustment there.
The ail. & pitch links might not be short enough to level the swash that low (with the head head mounted in the top hole).
I am going to assemble it that way just to see how it will work.
Ain't this stuff "FUN" !!!

I don't have the BW anymore but I used the center hole as far as I remember and extended the link to the swash like what it looks like you are doing. At zero pitch it all aligned up perfect.

Got mine set up as in the pics posted but I haven't flown it yet.
How did it fly?
What kind of head speeds were you running with the BW head?
