Wow, the last post from me or anyone else that is, was March 2013, I even forgot I had the thread....LOL
I will start to post some of my projects that I'm working on, and they are many and varied at the moment with balsa builds to quad copter FPV happening, life is certainly moving along... :-)

Here is the latest addition to my ever growing collection, HK special for $47 plus the bits (some of which I had laying around the workshop) so all up, around $100.
Very windy for her maiden flight, but with a heap of left aileron (look at that later) she was all set up and flying, up wind was very slow, but downwind was awsum.....LOL

Wing span: 44in
Wing Area: 259sq.in
Length: 33in
Flying Weight: 470g
Motor: 400 / (Turnigy 28-26 1350kv)

Hobby King 2.3m Cub

Maiden flight of the Hobby King 2.3m Piper Cub, fitted with an electric setup.
Turnigy G110 with a 100amp ESC running 5000, 6S battery and an 18x10 prop.
First 6 minute flight and trim out, landed and checked the battery (87%) another 8 minute flight and battery down to 67%.
Recharged battery and went for 15 minute flight, landed and checked the battery to find 59% still left in the battery...?
Flying conditions where excellent with very little wind and throttle set at just over half way, so maybe I will leave the timer set on 15 minutes and leave plenty of extra time for stronger wind conditions as 15 minutes flying is more than enough for one flight.

Broken Wheel Rim

On one cross wind landing, corrected with a little rudder and kept the wing level and got a little sideways drift along the bitumen and the side of the rim peeled away...?
Port wing dragged briefly along the bitumen before she came to a halt, wing skin fixed with more Cub Yellow covering and 4" alloy rims and tires ordered instead of the 3.75" plastic.
Used hot glue gun to stick the tire to the rim and stick the broken rim back in roughly the right place so I have something to fly while I wait for the order to arrive.

Plane Crash.... ?

I swear I was not flying this at the time, but discussion seems to think it was a Rx problem, or battery failure or something we couldn't think of..... :-)

Osprey Maiden Flight.

Maiden flight of the Osprey 2m glider, well balanced and looks like she is going to be very fast once she is sorted out.
Bought from HK as a Salangane, but found to be a Osprey from Slough Models in the UK.
So far she has been fantastic except for a failure of some sort that put her into the bush and damaged the wing, but all good again now.
