Pursuit P Mono
I lost the latest Delta Force 33 I built last month. It had a very short life with maybe 10 heats from 1st splash to final decomission. I had just passed what was the lead boat in the turn on the west end of our lake and started to pull away from him down the back straight. That's when the DF took a bad hop off a wave and hooked left right in front of him. The T bone that followed knocked the hatch off and took a large chunk of glass out of the deck in the area where the front of the hatch would seat to the hull.
Luckily the hull stayed right side up and I made a bee line back to shore with it. After getting home I pulled all the hardware and tossed the hull in the trash. (Yes it was that bad). Watching Chris and Scott's Pursuits run, I decided I wanted to build one for myself as they seem more stable at speed than the DF hulls do. It took a while to find a new one and had to order it from HOR in China. I've been piddling along at it for about a week and still haven't accomplished a lot but thought I'd go ahead and get a thread started today.

The real reason for starting this thread.
While looking for a Pursuit hull I ran across this cool combination stringer, motor mount and servo mount at Kintec on the building supplies page. I liked it's design and ordered it along with the T bar stuffing tube support. http://www.kintecracing.com/Building_Supplies.html Since his website doesn't let you pull up an individual object you'll just have to scroll down to find it.

Thanks W and Paul.
Lucky for me I still had (have) my 1st DF-33 P boat so haven't been boatless for the ordeal. (And it still runs "respectably" at our local pond) ![]() Haven't really accomplished much since starting the thread. I did finish hanging the harware on the back over the weekend. I lost one of the little button head screws for the top of my SM strut adjusting bracket too.It fell to the floor and bouced to parts unknown. (thought it was a 4-40 but after buying some at the hardware store on the way home this evening found it must be a 6-32 when I went to put it in.) Looks like nnother stop on the way home tomorrow. ![]() I've done a little more (checking fits and alignment, adjusting where the servo will actually be bolted down, stuffing tube etc) but here the only shot I've got tonight. |

Got the stuffing tube & rails glassed in tonight.
After epoxying in the stuffing tube, slid the rails with motor attached into place and set the alignment for flex into coupler. Added a spot of 5 minute epoxy to all four corners (front and rear of both rails) and after it cured removed the motor before laying in the cloth & resin. Right now there's just a single layer of 2 oz cloth on the outsides of the rails and i's pretty much invisible. I would like to at least add another layer but I'm now totally out of 2 oz cloth.

Right now, I need to find some more 2 oz cloth so I can finish glassing the mount in. I'd really like to have this one ready to go by our 2nd Sunday run in January. |

Almost a waste of a photo but I did get by the local hobby shop today (he's only open on Tuesdays & Fridays)
and grabbed some 2 oz cloth.Stringers are glassed in and now need to cure. I added another strip on the outsides as well as a single ply strip to the insides (motor area only) |

I've managed to get the motor and servo back into place already this morning as well as finishing up the steering linkage. By turning the servo over so the arm is at the rear, I was able to re-use the connecting rod from the DF33, but still need to cut about 5" off the old flex shaft.

Hey Bill
Do you think this would be a good hull for the guts from my sv-27? It looks like a much better designed hull then the super v. I was figuring it would leave me room to power up with a bigger motor later if I want to. It looks like it could be a p limited mono with room to become a P mono later if I chose to? Thanks, Jay |
