My version of RAVEN

Hi all,

Been working on a project for a customer and decided to share with you.. Needed a platform to carry a payload ( can't say & yes it is legal ) but any how we did a bunch of different designs and kept coming back to a RAVEN clone. So some plugs where made and molds and the glass work has been done. The wing has been cut out of 3/4 pound foam and sheeted with 1/32 sheeting. I will show photo's on that soon.. here are some quick pics of the fiberglass parts and boom and tail surface.

what you think ?

kit

Is there any interest in this as a kit?

Glass parts and foam wings ( unsheeted )

Or a deluxe version with sheeted wings..

Still working out some details.. Hope to fly it soon as I get caught up on other composite orders.

This version has a removable nose with a slid in battery / payload tray. The camera can be mounted in the nose or out on the wing where the 2.4 ghz 1 watt TX will be.

Hope to have some wing work done today and post some more photos.

oaky..dinner done....

put the hard points in the wing...

1/2 inch hardwood for 1/4x20 nylon 2 inch screw..

Used 1/2 brass tubing with a slight bevel in drill press to cut hole in wing...

did a quick weight check, and i did not use my good 4# contest wood, but 14.6 oz for total wing..

some more photos...

Shows the tube mount..

wing with tip glued on and weight of wing panel, they came out almost the same.

total wing weight , wing, wing tube.. I'm sure I can get this lighter with a better selection of wood.. I was out of my contest grade 1/32 wood.

I did get the mount for the payload done last night and will show that later.

Next working on the servo mount with the push rods to go down thru the boom.

cheers
