Doing as I command
Working on servo designs for dropping into my wing. As you may or may not know I have opted to go to two servos from a central servo to operate ailerons. My questions. If I mount the servo's facing each other, meaning top facing to top, will they work correctly without having to do servo switching? It seems to make sens to me that as they both will rotate clockwise one will push up on the servo and one will push down on the servo. Sound correct??

Every time that I do this, I have to stop and figure it out. LOL
I believe that you are correct in your assumption. Being a little slow, I lay out the servos and play with them, hooked up to an RX. By doing this, I can confirm that my head was on straight, when I planned the servo layout. |

If the servos are laying on their sides, make sure the out put shafts are either point away from each other or towards each other. DO NOT have have them both facing right or left. If they are "standing up" with the servo exposed outside the wing, the push rods should have the same orientation as the first description.
Back in "the old days" we used to get one servo in the radio gear that was a "reverse rotation" servo. It came in handy on occasion. You could make your own by switching the wires on the motor in the servo. Of course way back then we never used a servo on each aileron. Ken |

It usually works out exactly right if you implement perfect symmetry -- just as you guessed. Both servos will rotate in the same direction with the same command. But on one servo, that will move the arm forward, and on its twin, it will move the arm backward.

Too funny, I work on people all day long and spend all day working "opposite" right is their left etc. I have both servo tops facing each other - facing into the wing root. Should be good to go

Of course we are assuming that you have two identical servos....not all servos move the same way so if you ever use two different makes on aileron it might really confuse you
