Tom,

I was thinking of trying my 450 arms on the Flip FPV frame to see it that makes any difference in the vibrations. What size spacers are required for the 'old style' arms? I can scavange some from the 450 frame, but I think I'll need more than the old frame has. Will the stock Flip FPV frame spacers work or do I need a different size?

We need a deticated Flip FPV thread, I think. Should this be it or start a new one?

I just ask because it started as more of a personal thread, not a public "show your Flip" kinda thread, so wondered if we should just claim it in the name of the people? But i guess you answered my question.

But on that note I will share some more pics..I mean Flip'n Pics, that my wife and I took this weekend.

And some aerials:

Nice pics. How's the vibraton/jello from your GoPro? I've got some vibs...not sure if it's a balance thing or an arm thing...to new in tuning in the frame to know for sure. I was thinking of trying the HT 450 arms to see if there's any difference.

As for this thread...yeah, it kind of started before the Flip FPV frames were being sent out. Now that frames are getting in the hands of us users we should see more frame related posts/questions vs just personal banter. Part of the reason I'm thinking of trying the other style arms...to prove/disprove any vibration difference. Tom's also tinkering with some ideas for vibration dampening...more to come I'm sure.

It looks like you've changed motors and camera mounting. Mind listing your equipment and experiences?

I know it's personal banter, but, nice pics Derek!
Back on topic, anyone know when the flip'n frames are gonna be back in stock?

I have changed it a lot in the short time I have had it. Just playing around still, as I am not a multicopter guru, so still don’t have a strong baseline on my builds.

Props are pretty much perfectly balanced in my book which I find much easier to do with the wooden ones.. I do get some vibration, especially at certain resonant freqs. I had no real jello probs before I put on the sunex lens. Now they are much more apparent, but I think that by loosening the Velcro on my gopro mount I have substantially reduced them, but further testing is needed to be sure. Right now it is just sitting on a pad of foam made from the same type that is inside a gun case. I may grab some moon gel if Sam Ash has it, as I saw you guys mentioning it earlier.

Gear is:
RCTimer 2830-14 750 kv motors
Zinger 10x4 wood props
Self-flashed 18A Hobbywing SimonK
RCTimer ArduFlyer 2.5 FC wth neo6 GPS
TLRS NR Rx

Fpv Gear:
GLB MinimOSD
Gopro 1 + Sunex
SC2000 600TVL camera
12v Boost Regulator/Filter
RMRC 400mw 1.3ghz VTX
IBCrazy Blubean Cloverleaf Antenna

Batteries:
3s 3000mah yields ~8 mins to depletion
4s 4000mah yields ~6.5 - 7 mins to depletion

Thanks for the equipment listing. I'm surprised by your run times. With my NTM 750 motors on 4S 2650mAh and 10x6x3 GWS props I'm getting an easy 8 minutes with <2000mAh consumed out of the packs. Odd to see your flying time is way reduced over mine. I have some Gemfna 10" props to try too. Wonder what they'd provide in flying time/performance.

I may have to give it a few more thorough runs, but I sorta suspect that these RCTimer motors are really really inefficient, at least on 4s. I replaced them on my hex with some similarly spec'd sunnysky motors and gained ~2 minutes instantly.

I wish I had some 10" gemfans to try. I have some 'knockoff' gemfans, but balancing the hubs is pretty much impossible.
