Scratch built octocopter buying list
I'm building an octocopter and I'd like to check that I'm getting the right equipment before I start spending . I'm planning to lift a 1 kg camera on top of everything else.
TURNIGY Plush 30amp Speed Controller
Slow Fly Electric Prop 11x4.7SF (4 pc - Green)
Slow Fly Electric Prop 11x4.7R SF (4 pc - Green Right Hand Rotation)
A28XL Brushless Outrunner 890kv
How does this sound and what camera mount would you recommend? I'm trying to keep the entire project under 600 dollars.

I hope the picture HK shows for this motor is wrong, as it only shows 2 wires. It also doesn't mention mounting hole spacing for the motor. The frame has 16/19/25mm which is the most common so it's likely it would mount fine.
For FC it comes down to price/features. Even a KK2 can do octo fine

the x930 frame
I recently built the x930 with the following setup :
I used the KK2 board. I have 2 x 3300 3S Turnigy LiPo´s connected parallel.
The build has plenty of power and good lift, I havent tried it fully but it´s able to go between 3-5 kg in my opinion. Im having problems with the KK2, cant seem to find the correct P and I gains but hopefully that´l be sorted soon and then I can publish the max payload.
I also have a FatShark FPV system on it and a Contour 1080i camera.
You can see the first flight here:
