V7

Well, if nothing else in the world would attest to a flat plank for a wing, that big V7 sure does.

Cheers!

Tim,
Thanks for the 3oz weight on the 3Demon wing. That helps.

All,
Just to prevent any more contoversy like the past couple pages, I will not be foiled again <grin>.
Thanks for all your input.

Happy Holidays

Sure, but how's it fly inverted?

RCL,
I like the new avatar. Which one is you, the old guy on the right or the young guy on the left?

Ok, I am mostly likely gonna build a 3dx, and like previously mentioned, would take a yr to go through all 6 threads. So does it need 3 or 4 servos to have aileroins, rudder, elevator, and of course throttle control? LoL.

3 servos for single aileron servo operation. 4 Servos (2 aileron servos) if you want mixing capabilities for the ailerons. It has been built both ways and will handle the extra servo wt. just fine.

I went down to one of the local hobby stores yesterday. Inside where two fellows working on and charging their interpretations of 3Dx's. I didn't know them, but went up and took a look at their stuff. Bluecore, Himax brushless, 3 cell lipo's, etc., with one plane outfitted with flaperons. Both planes looked like they had been flown A LOT! 37 degrees outside...they went out and, as I observed from inside the warm store, put on a 15 minute display of some awesome flying..harriers, blenders, flying circles..you name it....

I need to go out and fly..charge and fly..charge and fly...boy, those guys were good.

Stingerangent, Read through the threads! most of the info you want is in V1, but it won't take that long read them all. Some of it is people who have nothing better to do, arguing about the best glue or the airfoil. Most of it is very informative.

Ok, I'm just a tad bit confused on single servo or 2 servos for mixing capabilities. What are these mixing capabilities your talking about? If I just use 1 servo, do I stick it in fuelsalage, and get one of those connectors that can hold 2 pushrods, and have it so when the servo pulls one alerion up, it pushes the other down at same time right?

stingeragent, yes you are right. for one servo, you can connect two pushrods to the same control horn, so that one goes up, and the other down. having two servos lets you use flapperons, or spoilerons, which could help in some 3d maneuvers, as well as slowing the plane down for landing and such.

Note: you need a computer radio for these mixing functions
