It's rocket powered? So I just need to find a 70mm rocket.

One of the guys who makes deltas like this said that they had EDF powered them before, but mostly they are turbine and pulse jet powered. It's pretty big for a single 70mm fan though. They put P120's and even 160's on them.

Look up Virus or Inferno turbine delta. They are crazy fast!

Yeah I saw a video of one doing about 350mph I think. The title was "Fastest RCJet" . That can't be accurate though, because it's a flying wing.Right?

Yeah, I was told deltas are dumb too. They said don't waste your time on them for a speed model. I'm not that smart though, so I did it anyway.

I'm going to alter one of these for EDF. I've already started hacking one apart to see how it will work out.

Oh yeah! That carbon beast is wicked!! You should leave some of the carbon showing as trim color, just for the psyc out effect. Speed freaks always bow down to CF.

Steve, you got any idea what airfoil is being used on that delta? it's very cool. I hope you can pull off an EDF conversion and make a run with it.

Rich

Thanks guys It's something I really should be spending more time on, but there are so many projects around here I just haven't had the time. The design does fly very well and it's been pretty fast on very modest power.

Rich, the airfoil is just something I made up after consulting a good friend about the subject. He pointed me towards some reading about NACA studies and told me the Space Shuttle was a good shape, minus the dump truck in the middle . It is not reflexed and flies in trim unless I have the battery a little forward.

So what kind of airfoil does it work out to in the blended part of the body?
Just guesstimating that area is around 24" long. Even an 8% airfoil would put the thickness at almost 2" thick.
Or is the airfoil just really stretched out in this area, giving it a thinner cross-section?

Gorgeous design.
