Hi Jim - I am sold on arm type winches, and have found the Hi-Tec 815 to have sufficient strength AND SPEED to handle my sails. (it is a big winch) Next step up would be an RMG from Australia but much more expensive. I had been controlling both main and jib from a double arm - but I may split functions and run the jib off a second servo so I can backwind the jib while tacking. This would help push bows over onto new tack.
In addition to strength - you really need something that is fast so if you get hit with a wind gust, you can release the sheets quickly.
