I recently aquired 4 rtf rx ready models
1. 30% Carden 300s 3w60k engine
2. 70" ws CG Extra 300 rcs 1.4 engine
3. 78" ws CG Sukoi g-23 engine
4. 54" ws CG Ultimate Bipe RCS engine

I have a question about fixing these models. I don't believe these have enough throw movement to 3d. The builder of these left very little movement in them. I am wondering the best way to seperate the surfaces so I can reset them to have the proper movement ?

Heres what I've measured on all the elevaters at the bottom end of their movement.

1. Carden -18 degrees
2. Extra 300 -10 degrees
3. Sukoi -18 degrees
4. Ultimate -15 degrees

Them servo arms are one of your problems. Way too short. On my EF edge. I have a 2" servo arm. Got 75 degrees. On my 30% my servo arms are 3 1/2 inches long. When I get home. I'll take a pic to show you.

If you take the linkage off the elevator, does it have more travel ? If so then the problem is simple. Just get new servo arms. I say go fly the Planes and have fun with them first.

Where can I pick up a fist full of those arms at a cheap rate ? I only got all these planes by trading lol. Moneys funny and rare with 5 kids ranging from 1-12 lol

I unhooked the arm from the elev. and still the same movement , It did'nt move any more than before.

I've a Hanger 9 27% Edge 540, I have the same servo horns on and I still get 45 degrees either way.

Those arms are $12 a piece. If what you said is true about the travel. Then the builder did not insert the control surfaces correctly.

Yeah he hinged them way too close together. I need to seperate them and rehinge them as safely as I can without damaging them. Trying to figure out the safest way to have them ready for spring. Snow on the ground here and I won't fly till its gone lol.

lol it will take me a while to save up enough $$$$ to change all my arms to those .... I'm have to , to get better travel on my planes surfaces

A few of those planes are not 3Der's an will more than likely snap during some 3D manuvers

The easiest way to remove control surfaces is a cutoff wheel on a dremel tool. just cut the hinges and install new ones correctly.

I use these on my 27% extra 260, and I got them through my local hobby shop, list and free shipping, although it probly cost me that much to drive there and get them!

rehinging might not be enough, what Dale 813 dosn't show you, is his control surface is double beveld! which is what I had to do too my ol EXTRA 300s I didnt even unhing my ailerons, I just peeled back the covering far enough for me to bevel the wing too same angle as aileron!

now I have to get some more arms myself! but my EXTRA is getting a total overhual, "I need chip"
