@ E_ferret: Wow! Thanks mate! I really appreciate it. I was about to ask my cousin in Sydney to send me one. It's good to know I can get them locally. It's faster. Hehehe!

Congrats Jim! If you ever release an encoder board, I would love to have one in one of my single stick transmitters.

Cheers,
Andy

That would be something.
No issues to date with my Kraft SS and Nanos but it's pretty basic.

Receivers for carbon fuse DLG

Wondering if and when you will have a new sailplane receiver, good for carbon fuse? I have a few nanos but not sure the antennae are long enough to exit the fuse.

Is FCC certification not required for that?

FCC has already certified the DivBee module... which is the heart of the RFU, no more FCC'ing needed.

Yep, absolutely no more new FCC requirements for anything we release in the future. The DivBee can be dropped into any product and sold without needing FCC approval.

Good, that is how I thought it to be.

But, the following had me slightly confused. I understand that the blue LED require more volts, but may I ask then why then is it a problem that a blue LED was not included in the FCC sample?

When you get a product approved, the approval must be that exact product. You are not allowed to change any part values, which would include the LED type, unless you file for a "class 2 permissive change". This requires partial re-testing of the device.

Hear that noise? It's me anxiously drumming my fingers.

How will we know when we can order these, Jim? Do we need to watch the XPS website or will you make an announcement here in this forum?

And what kind of initial quantities do you expect to have available? Will there be plenty for everyone or will a lucky few get some and the rest of us have to wait?

Finally, do you have a price yet?

Pete

Announcement will be made via our email list (customers who have previously ordered from our online store), our website, and of course here.

The first batch is just a few thousand pieces, but as soon as they arrive are tested the next (larger) batch will be built. Since this is the first time that othe radio systems will be supported, the market is much larger, so stock is something that I will be paying attention to. I have figured out pricing for the individual pieces yet. We have cables of various lengths, and other associated items to work out pricing for as well.
