If you use a big lipo to power a charger to charge smaller lipos you run the risk of deep-discharging the big lipo and damaging it. As expensive as a car battery.
A battery fuel gauge may be the answer http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/a...ery_fuel_gauge http://www.batterymart.com/p-bfg12v-...Fal7QgodKE8ALQ http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/produ...id=15291837018 http://www.batterystuff.com/battery-...LOWBAT-XL.html Or any Recreational Vehicle parts store |

All good stuff. Thanks!
As far as the lipo cost, I was thinking a low 15-20c 6s-5000mah would suffice and it would fit in the charging case I built. But perhaps I should just redo the case and put in some gel cells as recommended. Simple and safe. Then I can keep the lipos I have in a fire proof container as I am doing now. I forgot the 106b charger can do Pb batteries too. I was trying to avoid needing another charger for the different battery type. |

I was going to power the charger with it when at the field. When I'm home I would recharge it with my iCharger.
But now I'm curious about the LiFePo cells here. In my current charging case I have room for 6-8 8Ah cells, along with the charger and the ac power source. It'd be nice to keep the ac and dc power sources all in one case. |
