So why not start your build, post your build thread details here and I am sure Mike will put your entry in Post #1 when he gets back from his holiday.
Agreed. It's not like this is a formal thing anyways. The more the merrier!

He said the entry list is closed, but if ya'll will have me I'd be more than happy to join!

I'll be building the guillows kit 405 P-40(27"span), designed for FF converting to RC.

srt8madness's Curtiss P40 entry is now on post#1, and this will be the last entry accepted for the contest (extended a month in parallel with the closing date).

After taking advice from jofrost who runs contests elsewhere on RC Groups, I've settled on what I hope is a fair and unbiased method of judging. After the closing date on 28 February, there will be a week's window to review all 25 threads (hey, that's only 3.5 a day!) and then every entrant can PM me with their decisions. I'll tot up all the scores and publish the results.

At the moment I would think that only those taking part should be eligible to judge, but I'm more than open to advice.

I'll re-publish this as a reminder on the closing day.

How many people are still participating in the contest? I only see a few other postings from participants.

I think most of us got started with the best intention of finishing but simply got sidetracked by other projects. I honestly don't remember the last time I built a kit start to finish without detouring to another project midway through. I wish I could break myself of that habit.

I'm just finishing up another build. It was part of my plan, I never planned to start the AG-1 until I got the Kadet out of the way. It's build thread is in another forum (more appropriate forum to the design than this one).

I'm still in. Holiday-centered activities, seasonal illness and "the needs of the service" have all played their part.

I am just the opposite. I cannot start anything else until any pending project is completed and I have closure.

Your thread was marked closed, so I figured you too had bailed out. I was really looking forward to the AG-1 build as I have plans to do one in the future.

I'm still on my build, looks like I'll be making the deadline. My build thread was started just before this competition started so it's in another forum as well (Scale Electric Planes). I have to finish my projects before I start something else because I don't have space to waste on half-built planes.

Has anyone actually finished their project, yet? ... aside from my mate's Pee Wee Pal.

Are people still building?

Has all the enthusiasm simply evaporated?

Part of the fun has been being anxiously engaged in cheering on, and learning from, the other active "builders and bloggers". I've subscribed to every thread, and have read and commented along the way with great enjoyment, coming to know, respect my fellow participants.

Heck, I can hear Shakespeare's Henry V's speech before Agincourt, suitably modified, ringing in my ears... something about...

"We few, we happy few, we band of balsa-building brothers; for he today that cuts his finger, shedding blood on his balsa with me shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile with his covering or preference of CA over Gorilla Glue or aliphatics,"

Glad to hear there are still some builders in: my TA152 is getting close to being ready for covering, so I will definitely have it flown by the closing date. I agree that the threads are a mine of information and help on building these small models.
