What made him great was his "thinking" that's what was asked of me wasn't it?

So we should go back to our slavery roots? Take away women's right to vote? Force an indigenous race of people out of their native lands?

How did he do that? By bankrupting the Soviets a bit earlier than he bankrupted us?

Actually I'd give GWH Bush credit for ending the cold war. He stood down the SAC bombers from their continuous alert status.

After giving the speech, and the guy before me did some tirade about war protestors, I felt odd, my teacher made some comment about our speeches collectively being "gung ho", and I realized it was based completely on feelings, nationalism, patriotism and ignorance. I began to read about the war, and for the next couple years, including at the community college where I spent my senior year in HS on a joint enrollment program, I did two papers on the war and one based on an ancillary view of the war. By the time I had found out exactly what was going on over there, I was against the war and a liberal. Have been ever since.
So you learned or had some type of Liberal indoctrination. But may have been a conservative when young. Interesting

Liberals seem to want change-whether it's a good thing or not. Conservatives DON'T seem to want change-whether it's a good thing or not. There's something in the middle: Moderates.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

Saw this poll this afternoon. Kind of scary.

"Gallup: 53 Percent of Democrats Have ‘Positive Image’ of Socialism"

LIberals think that if they can control enough they can make things fair.

Conservatives think that the more things are controlled, the less fair they become.

The first is ideology. The second is facing reality.

I didn't know that big guy sitting in the chair in the Lincoln Memorial was Karl Marx, silly me.
If you have trouble naming any of history's great conservatives, then you truly don't know what Political Conservatism is, (as it pertains to America) and are ignorant of American history and its founding. I'll help you out and throw a few names out there for you:
John Locke
Alexis de Tocqueville
Charles de Montesquieu
Do some research, educate yourself, it's fun!
