WTT: (trade) AVEOX 1409/5D & ESC for small Brushless Motor & ESC.
Merry Christmas All,
I have too many big motors and no small motors. So I am hoping to trade my AVEOX 1409/ 5D brushless motor with Esc, for a nice “small” brushless motor with Esc. I am looking for a good BL direct drive (torque motor) or a BL geared motor, with the Esc included in the trade. A system for planes weighing somewhere in the range of 15 to 30 oz, swinging a 9”+ prop would be nice. Details: Aveox motor weighs 9.5 oz and the Esc is 2 oz. Also, the motor has the 5-turn “Delta” armature. The newer Aveox motors are “Y” armatures. Per Aveox, a 1409/2Y gives more RPM and the 1409/3Y gives more torque, than the 1409/5D. So I guess it would be close to a 2.5T “Y” motor. E Calc2 list the motor as: AVEOX, 1409/5D (NLA), KV: 1660, Io: 0.4, RM: 37, (Gear Ratio: 1.00, MM: N+, T/P: 5) Ecalc Shows: 8-cell pack, Aeronaut 9.5*5 carbon folder, RPM of 10.85 at 34.4 amps. My Test Show: 8-cell pack, Aeronaut 9.5*5 carbon folder, RPM of 10.2 at 30 amps. (Seems pretty close as my test batteries are a little on the old side). The ESC is the 120LV-2 with sensors, rated at 5-16 cells. It has pots for adjusting neutral and sensitivity, jumper for direction and brake. As the ESC is larger than the newer versions (no BEC), I think this motor would be nice for a sport plane like the LT 25, SIG Kadet, Cub, a Biplane or Old Timer. I suggest adding a gearbox or a nice quite belt drive for these applications to bring the cell count up to 10 or 14 and keep the average amps around 25. If anyone is interested I can post pictures and more details. Happy Landings, Dave Disclaimer: I am not an Aveox Motor expert. Please correct me if I have made any mistakes. Seems like a lot of watts to me. “Aveox: The "1409" represents a particular physical motor case size and power handling capability. While this one is a close physical match to the popular "can" motors, it's much bigger on power handling - 900 watts is the rating.” |
