Help!
Christmas Gift ASAP

What would be a good Christmas gift for an 11 year old
that has flown helis for about two years and also flies planes,
for less than $200?

Quad. Give him something new to fly. Try to check what kind of TX's he has. If he already has a Devo get a BNF HotenX ($150)

do you know anything about what he flies already? For example: his helis, are they a single set of blades or two sets... or the planes, do they have a rudder, ailerons, elevators, or elevons. This would give an indicator of his skill level. Also, for sure check what kind of transmitter(s) he has, you may be able to get something bindnfly that'll work with it and it'll be cheaper. Without knowing his current skill level it's hard to say what he'd really want (need) or maybe just acts like he's excited cause good ole dad got it for him.

As mentioned above, and in my opinion, a quad (rotor aircraft) isn't a bad idea. I don't own one, but I've been wanting to check one out (I'd rather build a plane next instead). It's just something different and new to play with. Again, look at his transmitter(s) and see what brand he flies, you might be able to find something bindnfly.

Would a check for $199.99 be out of order ?

It could be a Litmus test for where his/her interests are ; also a good
way to help instill ways to make the money last.

Instead of Telling-em what he can/can't spend it on, just encourage
the best value for the buck ; also 25% goes to a savings account.
