http://www.taichiunlimiteddrawings.com/ Yes I purchased the precious metal drawings and color picture.A friend of mine gave me the H9 40size mustang after he had a less then purfect flight.I have it in the project pile.I plan to use the next size up himax counter rotating motor set up.I'll keep watching.I heard P/M did good at the air races this year.

Sounds like a fun project. Those are good drawings.
Lot of differences from a D model....
Oh, its Contra-rotating on one shaft. Counter- rotating is two opposite props on two seperate engines.

Quite a read! But, if I read the final finding correctly, they determined only 1.1% to 5% rotational pitch differential between front and reat to be optimal, and no real benefit from running the rear prop smaller.
Theres a lot of info in there on sweep of blades (rearward and FORWARD!), pitch,diameter, rotational airflow,Stators,drag,load division, and noise. Pretty interesting.
They call them couter-rotating lol, I was always told counter was two motors, contra was one.

Thanks for the link on tip design. I read it all.

Now I am wondering. As I understood the drooped tip, it moved the vortex outward and reduced stalling effect and drag.
Is that correct??

According to this, no. 5 was the best tip shape for increasing effective aspect ratio and lowering drag.
I know Hoerner did a lot of tip research, and I read an article a long time ago that had drooped Hoerner desgned tip info, and while it had higher drag, it had very good slow flight characteristics. I used them on the Sportwin and SuperSportwin, and they do seem to provide just that....

Thanks for clarifying that. The sloooow flight characteristics is what I need. I have been told how to recover from a stall, but it seems I'm always too low. and have crash a few because of that.

Simple tip plates hanging down from the wing are less elegant but just as effective.

Have the fuse sides on and drying, nose bottom block cut, and stab-ele cut out.
Should be able to install the nose chin block tomorrow, and then remove it from the board.

Well, some real aircraft with just one contra prop assembly do have two engines driving them...the Convair Tradewind (8 jets turning 4 props) and the Bugatti 100 come to mind.
