Precious Metal

I started this in this thread http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1777186.
I thought it might be better to move it to it's own thread, so we'll start again here...

I posted on the PM Facebook page asking the team what the pitches were, or more precisely, the pitch differential between front and rear prop, it'll be interesting to hear what they have to say. They want to see the bird when it's done as well, that's nice of them.Ordered a PM T shirt too

You already know where I stand on the paint job Mark. I've got a modified Yak-11 racer ready to cover and there is no doubt what colors I'm going with!

Can you say "Hi Viz"? lol Love it!

I'll be thinking about colors as I build. This thing has more schemes than a chameleon

Put the mounts in the servo wells, roughed in one wing tip. After glue dries I'll finish it to shape. Panels epoxied together.

One wingtip done, other glued on, center joint epoxied and taped.

I picked up my motor from Prop Shop Hobbies today (Thanks Matt!), and it's a pretty sweet item!
With the motor mount, and two props, it's 12.65 ozs......no lightweight for sure!

Rear prop has to be drilled for 4 Allenhead screws that go into the motor case. They provide a drill guide with the motor. It is fairly simple for me with a drill press, but for the average guy it might be a challenge.
There is not a lot of CR shaft for the front prop, but I assume they have run these and tested them, and that there is enough there to grip on to.

Only have to make the aileron servo hatches from 1/16 ply and drill/countersink them, and finish the other wing tip and the wing is complete....

Don't let the color scheme of the airplane as depicted on the shirt sway your decision Mark. Stay the course!
