Can I use hbcp2 main motor in hbfp

Hi can I use a hb cp2 main motor in hb fp? I know ones 9t and ones 10t.
The main drive cog and frame are the same for both models.

It should be fine. If you notice it's running too hot you may wish to trim the blades down to reduce drag.

The blades on an HBFP have tons of resistance, due to their shape. They have been known to cause the 4 in 1 to go up in smoke when the motor has to work too hard.

I cut 3/8" off mine and main motor never got above 115F, perfectly comfortable.

Motor current on these depends on motor running in its comfort zone (back EMF) and one tooth on the pinion makes a difference. If you can't leave your finger on motor after running, that's too hot.

Interesting. Where abouts do you cut blades?
What about different blades?

There are aftermarket blades available, like these: http://www.thinkrc.com/xtreme-fiber-...bee-p-672.html. There may be others, but that was several yeas ago.

I trimmed about 1/4" from the trailing edge, entire length. I have also tried cutting 1/2" off the end and reshaping it.

Lift feels smoother but there's no noticeable loss.Trimming the stock blades or replacing them with aftermarket was pretty standard procedure a few years ago.
