Already discussing the T-28.
Here:-http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1780277
And the P-51 sounds like the same specs as the DuraflyP-51. Wonder if they are using the same moulds??

Mine arrives tomorrow. I'll let you all know whether it is from the same mold as the durafly (which I have owned for some time now)

You have taken a quote of mine from 4-5 weeks ago when the full specs had not been released. Now they have they could not be out of the same moulds as it is actually bigger than the Durafly!!
We have already discussed this on the nitroplanes thread!!
Here:-http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1792700
I hate it when we have multiple threads of the same plane!! Time to close this one!!

actually it is better to leave this one open, as it discusses this model specifically. The other thread is about ALL the new models.

I am literally hovering over the buy button but waiting for at least one opinion before I buy.

hey guys... ya know I gotta eat! or else I won't even have the strength to open the box.

Yes, she did arrive just as the men from brown said it would. And for those who said it was a different model....... it is!

It is CLEARLY made for the same CAD database as the Durafly/FMS 1100mm mustang. Every panel line, every rivet, every part break is in exactly the same place.

Now for those of you worrying about quality (of the airframe remember, I only bought the kit.)

don't.... (worry). It is every bit as good and strong as the Durafly. It does measure 45 1/4" span 1150mm which makes it about 4.5% bigger than the durafly and computing a scale of 1/9.8.

The differences between the two models (besides the slight increase in size) are:
  • front portion of cowl on Airfield is foam (durafly is injection plastic)
  • belly scoop is injection plastic(tough!) the Durafly is vacu-formed or VERY thin injection molded.
  • dihedral in wing is dissappointingly low. The durafly is off too, but a lot closer to scale.

The landfing gear units appear to be identical and I have no issue with the ones in my durafly after many flights on a less than perfect grass/lump field.

The prop is the "typical" FMS style assemble to the spinner backplate type.

I will get some better pictures this weekend in the daylight.

Tom

Eat? Haha eat now and taste it later! Thanks for the details. I will be purchasing one tonight. It will be my first mustang to the fleet. I will probably change out the ESC and go with a 4s.

yes, I plan on 4s on mine too. Have to find a 35 or 42 mm motor with a low enough Kv to swing the supplied 4 blade prop on 4s without going much over 30amps. I have a slew of 4s TP 2650 45C packs in good shape.

Tom, thanks for the pics and info. One question though, how is the main gear forward rake? Is the axle forward of the wing leading edge or will it need to be modified? Couldn't really tell from the pics.
