powered paraglider 24" x 62" chute
hello everybody. i saw in one of sites about powered paraglider. it is powered by .25 gas and chute size is 24" x 62". chute weight is 40 oz. no idea yet about wing loading. is anybody have an idea how to convert to electric. if my info is not enough kindly tell me what else are needed so that i can contact the manufacturer. are brushless motors and Li-Poly batteries necessary for long flight? thanks.

Hi,
If you are after a 25ish powerplant that is not expensive (see brushless li-poly etc) I would start with 10 cells and a geared magnetic mayhem or endo. As the chute flys very slowly you would gear for a relatively low pitchspeed with a large diameter. You could probably fudge some figures in motocalc. If the chute is 24" x 62" it is 10.3 square ft @ 40oz = 4.6 oz/ per square ft. Good luck & post some photos!! Regards Phil |
