no reason not to i guess, you'll just have to have a larger attenuator on the input and remember to monitor your lipo batt more frequently on your TX

your math seems to be right, the 10db would bring it down to 10db from 20 (20db = 100mW). and yeah the 2200 with a UBEC would be just fine for you, though it's a good idea to have that battery alarm i should pop that in mine as well

well, i reviewed the comparison between my 900mhz CP vs 5.8ghz CP, did a 400m flight along some railroad trackers that are surrounded by embankments, and i must say the 900mhz is the clear winner, not a touch of static on the 900, gonna go and head off to do some longer range tests now, i'm quite impressed with the results so far.

hey the 5.8 is good don't sweat it! i just have a pile of gear here from my previous 900mhz FPV attempts and am just retesting it with proper filters + CP antennas
![]() edit: if it makes you feel better i'm going out to do a 3.5km attempt in a moment with my 5.8ghz gear

Nice. Do you think this would work and then I wouldn't need the UBEC , battery straight in and radio power out. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2W-WiFi-Wirel...ht_7323wt_1163

WELL! antenna tracker is going in the garbage, it's a piece of ****. failed again. Luckily i was smart and mounted a crosshair on the goggles, pulled the 'video in' cable and let the crosshair take over.
On a happier note, i hit 4km today 500mW 5.8 tx with cloverleaf on plane + crosshair on goggles. yippee! On another happy note, tested the 900mhz on the hex flying through a forest, and it punched through completely, the 5.8ghz is being removed from my hex now. I'll spend the evening mixing vids and will post both sometime tonight. It's nice to have goals

Wow gone 2 days and 3 pages to read ! I was out to see mom near Rimouski Quebec and on the way stopped at a scenic road stop to test drive the Tonka Summit. It's a place I have to fly over but it is always very windy on this area of the St-Lawrence river.
