well today was a very good day, i got my SSS up and flew out to 2.5km, a personal best, with perfect video, and I got the RTH working, it flew itself home all the way

no link sorry, but here's the final flying config:

stock SSS + following changes
changed ESC to 85A
7.5A BEC
stock motor, but 9x7 3 blade prop, pulls 43A on WOT (3S)
2 x 5000maH 3S
Eagletree logger + eagletree OSD + eagletree guardian expander
spektrum DX8 boosted + AR8000 receiver
500mW 5.8ghz tx w/cloverleaf, crosshair on my goggles
BIG a$$ ski to take off on soft snow

another couple weeks and i'll get the dragon link installed

flying time on above is about 35 mins with conservative flying, should go up a bit once that ski is removed, it causes a lot of drag

well with the success of the RTH on the SSS this weekend, i think i'll prep the antenna tracker and get her out to 4km this weekend my DX8 has that range anyways

You'll see that for each new km, stress increases exponentially with distance. I suggest looking at your flight path on google and testing your RTH before each long distance flight. Seeting and attaining long distance goals is fun. Good flight and post video please.

i'll have the antenna tracker + base station setup for it so i'll have the FPV recorded.

My new routine for flying the SSS will be to test RTH via tx shutoff & RTH via switch to make sure both work before i take off.

should have some video uploaded by the weekend... exciting!

i'll likely upload some video that i took from the new legs + gimbal on the hex as well, i was quite impressed by the setup..

too much to fly, not enough time.. better buy a lottery ticket so i can retire!

I usually test it in flight to make sure it comes home and doesn't go anywhere else (whatever the reason it would go elsewhere). I just fly a short distance and flip RTH and see if the coordinates a good and the thing works, then head far, far away . Don't know if it makes sense, but it makes me feel better.
