Thanks Kha, hope it will work well. Just ordered 2 Rx-s a few days ago, probably it will take a 2-3 weeks until they'll arrive.
Which kind of buzzer is needed for moding an rx module to use as Tx module? Will something like this looks OK?

If it's ok I'll order right now so I'll have it ready when the modules arrives.
I see it should be connected on ch 2- it means between ground and ch 2 signal? What "Active high" means?

Yes that will work, active means that the buzzer should sound when the pin is high. You need also a npn transistor like bc547, this will allow it to drive a buzzer with the input voltage from tx directly.

Okay, I'd really appreciate if someone would answer this question. Is there a way of getting the CPPM out of the rx? I NEED it for my dragonOSDv2.

Thanks Kha,
I bought one of those: http://bit.ly/WTfrqB
Suppose to work with input voltage of 3.5v-5.5v so I won't need a transistor or any kind of ampilification

You need as there is a (1k IIRR) resistor on the channel lines, so unless you remove that from the board you will need a transistor. Any NPN will work.

- 'base' to the chX
- 'emitter' to GND
- 'collector' to buzzer (-)
- buzzer (+) to the voltage input from TX

You need to install driver for it.

The orange Rx can be used as a TX. But the Vreg. on the pcb is so small, I wonder it manages to make 3.3v from let say 12v at the required mA... Looks like a big risk to me...
For those who do use Rx as Tx check Vreg. temperature.

The reg WILL overheat making it reset every few seconds. Either power it from external 3v3 source directly to 3v3 pin bypassing the reg. or use 5v preregulator.

Hello kha,

So you will understand what I'm working on.
I have already received a meduino 5/3.3 v and with an extra external 3.3 V ...
Waiting for the rfm 22 & 23...
IMO you need two Tx's. One for testing at home and "normal" flying that will not drain your Tx batt too fast and a high power Tx for FPV.

At least two....

I have (on transmitting side)
1 flytron RX converted to TX
1 Orange TX (second one coming up)

And I'm in process of making a few 1W modules (have all the parts, need to make the PCBs next).

Where other than from flytron can one get the rfm23b chips? Flytron is out of stock currently on their 1W module...
Preferably in EU.
