If you already know about this, please bear with me. I've searched the forums and can't find anyone asking this, but here's an answer anyhow. Having been in the hobby for almost 30 years, I've had several different brands of radio. The servo plugs are similar, but different enough that one mfg's servo wouldn't fit another's receiver. It turns out that they are all based on a standard plug called a pcb or breadboard connector with 0.1" (2.54mm) pin spacing. Sound familiar? Not coincidence that your esc's plug right onto the pins on your fc board. The various R/C manufacturers took this and modified the connector shell so it would only plug in one way to maintain correct polarity. And they are all different. Futaba G, Futaba J, Hitec, JR, Airtronics, they all have their own connector. This also means that you pay a premium for these proprietary connectors. Even the aftermarket replacements from HK are 1.99 for 10 pairs of shells and pins to fill them. At the lhs they can be 10.00 or more. The micro receivers we use often don't have a one way socket, just bare pins, so we have to be careful to plug the wires in with correct polarity anyway. This makes the proprietary plug unnecessary.

I don't know about you, but 50 3" single pin fc/rx wires for $10.95 is a pretty good deal to me. Get a crimper and some 26 awg wire and you can make custom cables with as many pins as you need. And what did you pay for that last Y cable you bought? $10.00?

Same place I have been buying all this stuff from. No longer do I buy cables from anywhere. I custom make every cable and been doing so for about a year now. Makes my builds look cleaner and more professional.

I actually found them while looking for something else.
I ordered enough to make all the cables Ill need for the next decade...

@ OP, been buying those exact thing from pololu, cheap as hell for the plug and connectors and cables.

shoot, why waste 1 dollar for a servo connector with 3 wires and then use only 1 or two.
