Tarot FY680 hex

Anyone tested already?

I found few threads on other forums, but seems no-one tested it yet. There's review on Youtube, but after HoryzonHD cam i won't trust FU ;-)

So, anyone got it already and could confirm, that it's stiff, made from real carbon fiber (and not GF-CF 'sandwitch'), is so easy to fold as described?

confirmed it is made of real CF (not GF) - 2mm thick center board. good thing is that it is much more stable than my old XA650. bad thing is their accessories for fy680 is a bit expensive.

also, i heard that TAROT is developing their own CINESTAR based gimbal.

I am very interested to get this because of its fully foldable feature including the landing skid, makes it very easy to bring along from one place to the other.

however, I wonder whether it will be able to handle dslr.. could this be able to handle 4-6kg of takeoff weight?

I'm also looking for a good review on this frame as I need to replace my F550. I'm more towards Jakub's six as it's a well known and proven frame. I'm a bit afraid FY680 landing gear could collapse in a less than perfect landing. But a good unbiased review could put it on my shopping cart.

I have seen the video and the springs looks strongs, not easy to retract... Also comparing this with a retractable landing gear which is being introduced now i would trust this more than that.. I guess.. I hope they include a hard case..

I assume the 5kg payload includes the 6 lipos.

The test was done in 2011 by KK, i found it very useful for me.
Weight with batteries was at 3kg and based on his test, found the most stable payload at 5kg, total flying weight of 7kg..
sorry if my i maybe using some strange terminologies as I am a newbie myself..

I would not be bothered about that at all.
The landing gear folds "outwards", and if you land sideways, the leading edge landing gear is loaded in the different direction of the direction it folds.

I am pretty sure that if you are really worried about the landing gear "collapsing" on a hard vertical landing, you could find a way to pin the legs.

Am am too looking for the first reviews, build videos and flight reports of the first "fylly installed" FY680

only if they extend the m2m to 700+... otherwise it is hard to increase flight time effectively.

I'm building it for NEX5N 3 axis gimbal with arduino based secondary controller for video operator. Target weight of 4.5 kilos. It will take me some time because it isn't the only project i'm working on. A thing i can tell, 13" propellers swing with a gap of 9-10mm. Way too little, i will increase the wheel base to slightly above 700 to achieve at least 20mm gap.
Now you can find also the carbon/alu version and save some bucks: http://www.goodluckbuy.com/tarot-fy6...me-tl6802.html

Great!

Are you documenting your build, so the rest of the world can follow your progress?

I am new to this hexacopter "thing" (I have been flying and building "ordinary" rc copters for 4 years) so I am curious why the propeller spacing is an issue?

A friend of mine has build a similar sized hexacopter and recommended these propellers.
