I am considering one of these as an upgrade:

Walkera Lama 3

http://www.jaghobbies.com/rc_helicopters/lama3.htm

or the:

Walkera HM CB180D

http://www.xheli.com/wahmcbhe2mee1.html

which i heard handles exactly as the dh 9116 model. not sure if its as durable
As i'm beginner also wandering to find the correct solution.

The same answer applies to you. A self-stabilizing 4 channel FP micro, like the Blade MSR, or WL Toys V911; or a micro quad like the Blade MQx or V929. Blade models are sold at your LHS, are easy to get parts for and are more expensive. WL Toys versions of these products must be ordered from China and take several weeks or more to get, but they are a lot cheaper. These are your best beginner models because they will teach you a lot and are very durable.

It's one of the most difficult helis to fly there is. It has slow response, is very floaty and rolls like a drill bit. But, many of us learned on them because they are very durable and slow for a heli. But they require some upgrades, which may be hard to find now. I have no idea where you would find this heli or parts for it, at least within the USA.
