Sorry about the late reply.
I don't really have any good suggestions. Can you test it with NMEAGEN or similiar, to see if it's the data from the GPS or something else?

oh, and please make sure this is disabled (set to 0) in the config-file:
#define USE_MKT_10HZ_CONFIG 0 // Not verified, please test

Never heart anyone else having that problem

Sure, but it would never be nice and smooth, unless you use a lot of characters

I'll be adding a few extra features I need for a weather-balloon project. If anyone else have some small things they would like to see implemented, let me know and I'll see if we can get it included in the the next update.

OK, fixed mine now.
Replaced the Atmega328 and it's running fine and reading GPS data.
Must have been a defect in the other chip, but it's in the bin now.

Built a 2nd PCB and now have 2 working (on the bench at least).

Nigel.

Yup, one was self inflicted though

If possible, can you add auto baud detection for the GPS - will save a lot of friggin' about with firmwares on the GPS modules.

Auto baud-rate detection is on the list for possible updates, if I decide to make a plug-n-play software version. That would most likely be auto baud-rate detetion, auto video-format detection and all standard options available through the menu.

But no promises...

As far as I know all GPS-modules supports NMEA-protocol. Donīt really see any huge advantage by using the UBX protocol?

Unless you have some convincing arguments to support UBX protocol, that's not gonna be done by me

just for an fyi, i have had just 1 issue where the mcu looked completely soldered, even under microscope exam, but I ran the hot air over it 1 more time to actually remove but did I last test and that seemed to fix it. must have been some weird leg/internal connection issue that the hot air fixed. this was a couple years ago on a project and it still works to this day. strange things do happen.

glad to hear you found the fix though

Seeed order

Hi all,

Seeed Studio did not accept Dennis's *.rar format but, they did accept the pcb files as *.zip.

After waiting 1+ month for my OSD board I gave up went and ordered from Seeed.

I ordered them in blue and if there is interest in bare boards I should have ??? in maybe two weeks time from --- 4/18/2013.

Just PM and I'll start a list - I will have 8 available. I think ~$4.00 USD within USA

Sure about that? I've used the exact rar-file when ordering from SeeedStudio? And I'm not quite sure I understand, you gave up and ordered from Seeedstudio again?

Anyway, sounds great
Looking forward to see some more builds

I've sent him one, but apparently he hasn't received it yet...hope he does soon..

A guy from Austria got his board in no time, but overseas takes a lot more time, same as when I order stuff from the US.
