It is not really meant to be used for aerobatic, and in generally the artificial horizon havenīt been updated since first implementation.

  • Fixed - Barometer-altitude was hanging when starting above 100 meter (noticed this due to a mistake, surprised no-one else have noticed )
  • Added - Lowpass filter on mah/km reading, to give more stable and smooth readings (alpha-value can be set in config-file)
  • Added - New timer-options. Timer can be reset based on speed and current. Speed is the default setting
  • Summary-options have been added, to avoid summary shows before the plane have been airborne. With the default settings, itīs detected based on speed.
  • Added - The temperature readout from BMP085 can be disabled
  • Fixed - The dot in the GPS-coordinates missed a shadow.
  • Added - Support for 10Hz GPS with MKT have been added. Please note that it have not been tested (must be enabled in config)
  • Added - Option to connect a button, to a digital pin. Only used to set home-position (same routine as used when button is connected to RSSI)
  • Small change to avoid artificial horizon to mess with flight-summary

Feedback is much appreciated

clouds, night AND upside down? Haha
No I get your point, if you cant see anything it would be nice to know the orientation of the aircraft quite accurate.

Just realized a stupid mistake in the hardware. The tantalum-caps (used to AC-couple the video-output), have mistakenly been placed with the negative connector connected to MAX7456. As MAX7456 have 1-2 volt DC-offset, this is not how they should be connected.

The error have been marked below. While the DC-offset is quite low, I really have to recommend to place them right.

Sorry...

Hello Dennis,

I read all through the thread. Great work !
I would like to know if you could provide the altium project files.
I would like to correct the ac-couple caps and add a gps adapter to the pcb and maybe some I2C Sensors.
I am willing to share the modified project if anyone is interested.

Hi Jan
Unfortunately the Altium-project have been made with none-standard libraries, which I can't share.

I think Ascended will have an OSD-version available later this year with pressure-sensor onboard, logic-converter for I2C and another GPS-connector.

But the hardware shouldn't be that difficult if you prefer to make your own design anyway.

Sorry...

So on this picture with the circle is the correct position of tantalum caps?

No, on the pictures I have marked the error / wrong position. They need to be turned 180-degrees.

I've updated #1 with correct overview.

Sorry about the extra hassle.

Hello Dennis,

ok I understand that you cannot share the Altium Project files . Meanwhile I played a little bit with gerbv and combined your gerber files with an adapter for a gps PA6C from http://www.stephanharms.de/GPS-PA6.
It is 18mm wide and fits next to your design to stay within 5x5cm at seeedstudio. If anyone is interested, I can post the files.

LED polarity indication

Dennis,
You updated the diagrams for the reversed caps, but no LED polarity indication?

hi Denis
I found one nasty bug.. some GPS receivers (ublox NEO 6) sends GGA and RMC together (no delay between)
everything is OK before homepos is set.. but after that.. all the calculations are little time consuming and GGA sentence is missing 2 chars (on baud 38400) (hope you understand my english

I fix it for myself (but it's not universal)

if (homepos==1) ggapos=3; else ggapos=5;
if (GPSbuffer[ggapos+1]=='A' && GPSbuffer[ggapos] =='G') {
