It works but just think how much better it wouuld work if the ducting was better!!!!

Hi,
made a testrun today installed thrust was about 7 kg, plane sitting on the ground with a scale at the back and a nyloncord over the mainstruts.
For example, F 15 installed thrust is about 5,8 kg
So i think that ducting is not bad at all, 10- 15% thrustloss from Teststand results to installed results is the norm.

Hi again,

I think that is THE best EDF sound I have ever heard! Performance looks good too, topped off with some good pilot skills. I'm in the market for my first 120mm edf and seriously considering one of these.

I am terrible at reading those graphs. Is it saying that your max amps was 165? And that was on 12s? How much time do you have on your TX timer?

well, i know a bit much amp but makes fun to fly
Timer is Set to 4:00, flight time is over 5 min

I just looked up those chinahobbyline batteries. I can't believe how low cost they are!!! I'm going to pick a few up seeing as you seem to like them. Having said that...they arn't going to last long running that kind of power through them. It seems a bit extreme but the performance looks stunning.

for now, i canīt say much from them, only a few cycles on it, but in the testruns and first flight they looked good, second flight was with 5300 GA, 10 A less and watts also dropped and low voltage peeps from the ESC, remember, the temp where at about 9° celsius. I hope the cyclelife is also good but we will see, time will tell.
Soon i try another Motor in the Taiwan Tornado, if tests done, i will share
Any response frm Vasa?

That doesn't surprise me. That kind of Amp through 5300mah packs would be just too much. And the flight time would be dust. I want to go fast but I need decent time in the air as well. The Vasa I'm going to be running pulls about 116 at WOT. But obviously not at that crazy thrust range.

Yup got in contact with Vasa! Vasa 120 14 blade with a HET 700-98-780 installed is on the way. I know I won't have your thrust but I will have much less weight installed as my ESC is over 145 grams lighter. Combined with the lighter 12s 5300 batteries and thats a fair bit. Hopefully the results will be at least close to what I see your plane doing now.

Having said that...this Tornado fan sounds like a million bucks in the air. I am VERY impressed.

hmmm, hard to say, but now that i know how smooth and well balanced the Taiwan Tornado is, is this a way to go. The difference from booth is the complete weight, but itīs not the Fan itself, itīs the big Motor that used.
@erh7771,
as i remember they where 45- 50° celsius.
