Yeah firewall isn't going to help you. Cisco has some DDOS mitigation hardware but depending on the type of attack it may or may not help. Just depends how predictable the DDOS attack is.

Four separate legs, made using unbreakable nylon,
wider than oryginal skids (bigger span of the base) -
more stable during take-off / landing.

I think it may be a good option. Maybe an inset spot to hold and protect the compass?

I can see the stock legs breaking and they should be wider.

Legs that run straight down from the motors would be nice.
Wide stable base and not in view of the camera I think.

I have the f450 with iris aerial 5" legs. I'm planning on getting a phantom soon, can I use this mount on both ? What size servos do indeed for this? I have a bunch of servos laying around from park flyers Even some digital ones.

Is there a way to boost the lifting capacity of the Phantom? I am a bit bummed that it cannot carry my Sony Nex 5n. Could I just replace the motors and the props for more lifting power? Or is the Phantom not upgradable in that way?

You would be better off with a larger platform. The Phantom really wasn't intended for lifting that sort of weight. You would also want a wider flame as it will offer a bit more stability as well.

I would look at the F550 with a decent set of landing legs and gimbal for an NEX.

Not even remotely. The Phantoms use spread spectrum frequency hopping technology. You could fly many Phantoms at one time without worrying about frequency conflicts.

Jakub, that sound interesting, but I have two thought.
1. the phantom tread mounts is metal inserts anchored in plastic.
2. the phantom LG, is connected, which means any impact is distributed between two attachment points.

2.5 I have impacted the phantom to the ground at max speed.. it rolled like crazy, not a scratch, LG in perfect shape. so current LG strength is not the issue, other types of functionality is the goal for sure.

Im going to do a bit more crash testing of the low-rider fpv gear I printed, my current biggest concern is what actually happen when the legs get a strong sideways impact (sideways to the leg = 45 deg angle force to the phantom)

I would be curious to explore a XP2 quad style landing gear, with a completely suspended landing gear and hang the camera from the landing gear like the XP2.
