For FPV hardmount or 1 axis is best.
I like 1-axis for agrressive flying or all you see is the ground on fast forward flight.

Looks like a nice solution for a video downlink ..

http://www.rclogger.com/Wireless-Tra...TX-RX-Set.html

They are pretty inexpensive here in the Uk however they are powered from a 5 to 6 volt feed from a Futaba type connector and as i'm not a serious RC modeler but a serious Cameraman I'm a bit in the dark...LOL
So any feedback would be welcome.

Then all i need is it to stop Snowing !!! Love the Phantom for basic gopro work and as a trainer think it cant be beaten :-)
We sell them and have done quite a few AP builds using them as a downlink for a camera operator: http://www.z06tony.com/Other/HexaKon...8467&k=Ktn37Cn

and for FPV use: http://www.z06tony.com/Other/HexaKon...8350&k=5WcPRgT

You cant beat it for the price and you can add many different modules-> http://www.rc-drones.com/fpv-osd.php

@Vartaz & Rudeboy - Im pretty sure the graupner have narrower hole, so you will need to gently drill a larger hole.

Did a bit of flying with the latest version of the xGimbal yesterday and cut a few pieces together to see how they would stabilize on YouTube, there is a link in the youtube description to download the unstabilized video.
This was shot 1080p 60fps, so naturally the stabilized version is best in 720p
I really was pretty happy with the unstabilized result, but wanted to see if it would smooth nicely, it did. parts of this would drop nicely and inoffensively into a video project. thats exactly what I had hoped.

I'm not sure I understand the benefit of the Graupners for this quad.
I think the stock ones are just perfect for the size and weight of the PHTM with a GoPro (WP case included).
Actually I believe there's not lot of room for improvement or real customization for this beauty. Kind of white "black box" optimized for beginners that are looking for a serious RTF platform for amateur shooting.
Trying to change anything in the aerodynamics can just make things worse IMHO.

Phantom Props

Flew Phantom for the first time yesterday.
Went through 3 batteries.
Constant 7 mph wind with 10 to 12 mph gusts.
Phantom out of the box with no tweaking flew as well as my F450 that has been tweaked several times.
GPS locked in and made Phantom "hang in the sky like the moon".
This thing is a great intro platform.
BTW, the white DJI props included with the RTF needed considerable balancing.
~33mm of cellophane tape on one blade of all four props.
I'd recommend balancing your props to enhance your flying experience.

Thanks in advance.
The battery box is 35x35x105mm. See what fits. For multi rotor, especially one that is not being used for aerobatics, 20C is fine. I personally like the NanoTechs but the regular Turnegy's have held up well for me.

asking because they dont seem to get a good hold just using the normal prop nut for the phantom!!
I use star washers on mine when I use Graupners. Remember with the 8" props you have to ream the hole to 8mm. The bottom is already 8 so I use a drill press and a metirc step drill.

Nice report TJ. Do you have a link for those that don't know how to balance props?

The Graupners are better balanced and allow the motors to run faster so greater reaction to instability. However, I flew them at 6500' and the Phantom did not have enough prop with a GP3 and waterproof case. Part of that is the design of the Phantom. Personally I think for the Phantom, the stock DJI props are just fine if they are balanced, and I have shot some relative jello free video without balancing.
