And I am using the hole on the arm next from last, so it isn't
even using all of the available movement.

Also, my new ball joints on the swashplate mount further from
the shaft, limiting travel even further.
(yes, I know they are crooked, I drilled them under a magnifier)
My rates are at 100%, so something is wrong.

The ELEV movement looks about the same as I remember with the stock servo, maybe I have a prob with the Tx, it was delivered in Mode 1 and I changed the pot positions. I have tried both vertical pots without noticing any difference. What servo are you using for ELEV?

Wouldn't it be better for a quicker response to cyclic input to use the outermost hole and reduce the epa percentage to limit movement?

Maybe your alternative servo is different?

My ELEV servo arm is centered, trims set to 0, EPA 120% and rates at 100%. I get about 15-20 deg movement of the servo arm. What are other people getting?

I tried both pots with no change, there does not seem to be any slop in the pots. The plot thickens...

(think slightly less than 3:00 to 6:00)

That is full throw, from extreme to extreme, passing center
along the way.

I'm glad I looked, because I noticed I need to move to the outer
hole. I am not getting linear travel, because of the small
radius of the servo arm.
That is way different to me, with the stock servo and stock PCB I was running running 120% EPA and 100% rates also and do not remember maxing out the travel. Here is a pic of mine at full movement, I am cheating with extended arms (I know bad news) but you get an idea of the angle and throw. I also have some AIL dialed in as the V912 PCB does not servo mix.

The ball links have been moved to the outer-most holes
on the servo arms. One arm is stock, and the other is not
quite as long, but close.

EPA's are set to 100, as I can max out travel with rates alone.

With rates at 85% and above, things start to bend, and
it has reached mechanical limits.
With my rates and EPA set to max and the servo arm extension I am getting full extension on the swash (similar angle to you), so I am getting there but interesting to see the different ranges in our gear.

I am playing around with a flybar mod that might also have some potential for increasing cyclic. I am waiting on a motor but I was thinking of putting a flybar angle restricter to reduce the throw of the flybar but still allow it to work as standard within that range. So the flybar can work as std in hovering position with small adjustments taking place via the flybar but when full cyclic is applied the restricted movement transferres back into cyclic. Hopefully this might provide a stable at hover bird with less pendulum effect but a lot more cyclic when needed. I have the ZR Z101 top end which should allow a washer or similar to be fitted under the flybar at the correct spacing to restrict further movement (no more bar strikes also). Something similar could be setup with the std 9116 head no doubt.

I have also bitten the bullet and ordered an Xtreme Pro 180A motor which will pair with the V912 rear motor and PCB. It might be a waste of time, but what the heck.

Really digging into my bird today. Replaced the main shaft and that fixed the vibration as well as taking care of my loss of pitch issue. Working on lightening her up. Dumb question: can i mount the RX board vertically or will this fail because of the gyro? I cant remember if the 9116 has a tail gyro or a real gyro.
