^that is craze fast. I guess I could probably do that if mine wasn't one big piece of tape, rubber bands and worn pieces.

Somebody might want to try the Airy Harden blades. They have been used on the CB-180 and the Ufly.
You would measure length on your existing blades and use the list halfway down this page..
The ones suggested for the ufly are a tiny bit shorter, narrower and have more pitch than the original. The original weigh 11.5 grams, airy harden weigh 10 grams.
I have no idea if any would fit the 9116 and what the difference would be.
Most are for coax so the down side would be get 4 and 2 would be throw aways.

Instead of updating the 9116 why not get a new heli?
You could go for the MJX-F45 4ch fp which is a 300 size heli that I have and is very stable and flies very well and is very fast and can handle the wind ok and can be converted to BL very easily as it has the facility for it on the PCB.
You could go for the Skyartec WASP X3 V 6ch FBL BL 3D CCP 250 size heli which I own as well which will hover out of the box as it is fitted with a 3 axis gyro and can be flown in the wind etc, it comes with the new X303V receiver which can be changed from beginner mode to full on expert with a press of a button on the receiver. And it is fantastic.

My "Blue Boy" finally arrived.
I haven't touched it yet so ......I'll weigh him when my digital scales arrive.
Steve, I know you've upped the servos & used captive lower ball sockets but is there a small B & S set available for the original servos?
The arms are so tiny & flexible.
(I do have 3 Turnigy? spare servos a'comin'.)
I have some small brass ball & nylon sockets that I may use.
&.....I see what you mean about the main motors.
Cheap & very nasty.
Brushes? What darn brushes? Lucky to be 2 mm cubed.
Replace them? Hah! No way Jose.
Thankfully, I have a few of them on order too.
& all those loose wires floating around in/near the gear box.
Oh BTW, the supplier said that the Tx was only available in Aus as Mode 2.
Well guess what. Mine was Mode 1.
I had to change the return spring/bar assy from the left to the right & transfer the ratchet plate.
I also went through the whole set-up procedure & everything seems to function correctly.
I haven't done any re-soldering as yet but after charging it up & reading (or trying to) the manual, & checking a few basics, it looks O.K.
Now all I need is for some spares to arrive & off he goes.

I'm 67 yo & been doing RC stuff since the mid 1970's.
Mainly water craft....A "Multi boat" with an OPS 45, OS 10 etc & a couple of electrics thrown in.
I've been sailing IOM & Marblehead yachts for the last 32 yrs.
Gee, time sure does fly.
Any ideas on the small captive ball & socket set for the original servos?
I've left the rates at default FTM..
I've also noticed a slight repositioning in the servos, going from "learner mode" to "maniac mode", but not sure if it will affect the stability or ?
Might just be a sticky Tx stick/pot assy.
Well, I've just finished ordering a heap of spares. ($100.00 odd.)
((I like spares.))
Hope I don't need them too soon.

sorry to take over the thread for a second,
does anybody know any ways of increasing the range of DH 9116 with everything stock. As you can see with my last video, there were a lot of problems with interference. I didn't even think it was that high, I.e. was not disoriented. I remember something about extending the antenna on the heli. thoughts?

Well, I ordered 2 PCB's, 3 Main motors, 2 Tail Assy's, 2 Main blades, (more in kits), 3 or 4 Tail blades, (in kits), along with 3 main drive shafts, 2 balance bars, swash plates, (in kits), top shafts, landing skids & 2 main bearings.
BTW, how does the balance bar come off?
Just prize the plastic top shaft apart?
Seems rather iffy.
