Trying some new glue on the skids, it broke the screw mounts out of the plastic
base, and were still on the screws.
Steve,
ever thought of changing the canopy of your bird with some decals?

So, I have noticed the balance bar on the dh 9116, has a weak point in the connection to the ball at the end, from the bar itself. I remember hearing about making the bar shorter? but, how would you do that? thanks in advance.

jimmy

I also have another question, how do I not let the tail motor burn out, it seems to happen say every ten flights and usually I am not even pushing it that hard.

You can use polymorgh to make your own parts like the landing gear. When they break, just melt it and mold it again.

^Is that directed to me, I would sort of need an explanation of what you mean. beginner here. I really am more interested in strengthening the bond between the weak points on the balance bar.

You don't really want to shorten the balance bar. If you shorten it and want to retain the same amount of stability you'll have to use heavier weights. The stock ones are too heavy already: if anything, you want lighter ones.

You don't have to push it hard to burn up tail motors. Just hover for an extended period and you'll overheat them and drastically shorten their life.

Do you refer to the weights on both end coming off? They are threaded and secured with glue, so i'm really amazed they come off - never had that happening yet. I wouldn't call it a weak point .
about shorten the flybar look at this post:

I do not recommend shortening the flybar for beginners - just get a replacement.

Do not crash with throttle applied, watch out when landing in grass, on carpet, etc., the rear prop mustn't catch powered. The tail motor really doesn't like to be stalled.
Every ~10 flights is really beyond any limits for a (even nonexisting) QC.

thanks for the tail section. Yah, the "weights" really did come off, actually only one. But now I am going to be waiting over a week for a replacement and since this is my time off (school), I am in agony. I want to devise some sort of temporary replacement. I want to be able to re-attach them, but it seems unlikely. If anyone could help out it would BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. I need to somehow attach the other weight back. Im pretty desperate here.

So you really think it's safe to glue it back with a damaged thread?
Will it hold on?
Or will it become a bullet thrown at somethousand RPM's?
Maybe hitting someone?
I know it's hard to hear - but:
SAFETY FIRST!
