Oh, I forgot my point.
For someone that wants to just bolt on an improvement, the fx60 or e-1003 head is really good. At medium speed, pendulum effect is very subdued.
, and continuous ff is possible.
I'll try to get a video of it this weekend.
Oh the dd tail holds the 180 pro no problem.

alright so now I'm back from work and what parts to order for the "new" mod?

HK250gt linkage and which mixing arms.....

I am thinking its gonna be off of banggood? (mind wanders after typing that every time...)

We could also come up with some kind of follower for the swash so it doesn't rotate separate from the main shaft. Like on real helis

Or stick a turnbuckle somewhere and use the same servo.
Actually, i think you could use a std double arm on the elevator servo and use a bent rod to attach to the front pivot arm.

^, You may have to perform a little mechanical magic to get the original servo to work with the extra load.
Suppose you could always upgrade the damn things, like Steve.
The 3 pack of 1800A's I bought are a little more beefy in the torque department but not by much.
Bit more mass & slightly larger as well.


& yet, another week has past & I await the arrival of my spare parts....

The linkage is a pain, and had to be custom cut and the size modified.

Since my mixing arms use different size balls, it complicates everything.

Let's see what Pa Flyer did to his. He mentioned that his is now

forward flight, as mine lacked the ability with the metal linkage alone.

Steve, you're right about skipping the linkage upgrade and the improvement being in the mixing arms. Mine showed the improved flight before I tightened the links. I just had to tighten them because like you, I'm a perfectionist.

You're also right about the trimmed blades as I found out the other day when comparing trimmed to stock in the wind. I think much of the detrimental effect is due to the lowered flying headspeed on our lightened birds with stock blades. The effect might not be noticeable with a less severley lightened heli and in fact the lift of the standard blades would be needed with a heavier bird. Trimmed blades on an unlightened bird would also probably have the motor running out of it's powerband with the resultant loss of flight time.

this sounds sooo promising.. i just ordered v912 and E-1003 mixing arms

i have an almost stock weight 9116, the only bits removed are the hor. stab and the dec bars..

should be interesting to see if it is just the mixing arms that make the bigger difference.. and which ones..

You'all might like to use this to improve your guidance system & steerability.


& mines still stock, other than those stupid dress rod thingys & horizontal bar.

Not quite ready to rip it apart just yet...

Oh. I already said that, didn't I?

Steve...I just checked the main shaft/"hollow tube" top bearing & it's got a little all around play in it.
I intend to change that plastic "whatever it's called" when I start on the motor mods.
It's possible that if it wears a tad more, maybe a circular brass shim can be inserted to take out the play. (if one hasn't got a replacement.)
