Battery

I went with a Turnigy 850mAh Nano-Tech from Hobby King. Weights 49 grams.

I only got a couple flights before my servo died. You have to trim the lower clamp bracket slightly to get it to fit. At $4.43, you cannot beat the price.

The Skyartec certainly does look good value for money, $150 with Tx is very reasonable. How do you find the 3 axis gyro, how different is it to flying the 9116? I am attracted to the Walkera 6 axis gyro because it comes close to a 4 ch setup, if you get disorientated you can let go of the sticks and have time to recover.

Then you increase throttle and "pull" it around, exiting the turn
at warp speed. The first time I did it, I was so happy it brought
a tear to my eye.
Do you also give it some back ELEV through the turn?

Back elev, hard aileron, slight rudder, and a throttle
increase if I remember correctly.
More back ELEV might pull you though the turn when you are at full tilt. Works on the sim

MQX +1 - it teaches you the right habits as it doesn't autolvel like the clone series.

It will hover as well as or better than a stock 9116, but the difference in flying the two is like night and day.

If you let go of the stick on the Wasp it will continue in the direction of the last cyclic input. It doesn't self-level like the 9116 at all. If my understanding is correct all helis with 3 axis gyros behave this way.

This is the advantage of the 6 axis, they say it is not too different to a 45deg flybar 4 ch without the pendulum effect and is very good in the wind. We will see, but it is available on Genius cp, V120D02s, Master cp, V450D03 and maybe a few others. I like the V120D02S option for durability, size and performance. Can fly indoors and very good outdoors.

Questions for Steve..............

1. How long can I expect my stock motor/brushes to last
2. When the brushes finally do go, is it an absolute that it will fry the PCB
3. I've only been hovering/flying in the house (small area) Prehaps I should just trick it out, and put it on the shelf until spring when I can fly outside. (better cooling)

Thanks,
Jeff
