Paintable iron-on films?
I am building a 46" Hawker Tempest balsa kit, and I want to paint it the same way I do plastic models----using model paint and my airbrush. It will be electric so I don't have to worry about fuel dissolving the paint. The plane has open frame surfaces and ideally I would like to be able to cover it with an iron on film, just like Monokote, but then be able to paint over it to achieve the flat camouflage scheme with blended color lines. I know there are paintable fabric iron-on coverings but is there any good smooth-finished paintable iron on covering? I have been trying to obtain some old Micafilm but haven't had any luck, and I don't want to glass it.
