No retoabcr, I never said water didn't have more resistance, go back and read. I am 100% correct. The same principals you use for figuring out what motor/prop/gear/whatever are universal, doesn't matter the resistance. All forms of transportation have resistance. You think a motor knows whether it's pushing water or a tire? No it doesn't. Yes....slot car tires have resistance, you are wrong. If a car tire didn't have any resistance, you could give it a little push and it would roll forever. This is not space, it's earth, and it's called coefficient of friction.

wparsons, you are correct, 2200kv on 3s is a good choice. You are a wealth of information and always enjoy reading your posts. You know a lot about boats. Your first post is on the money, higher kv with smaller prop in that boat is better.

I am still considering this boat, but the reviews and comments on Amazon about the drive shaft issue do not give me confidence. When things start getting 1-2 stars (out of 5) for the same problem, one has to take notice. Has this issue been addressed in any revisions?

Is the stock cable too small, or just poor quality? To me, .130 sounds overly big for a boat this size?
