Full size Electric Bigfoot 4x4
Check out the electric motor on this puppy! Apparently it has already been crushing junk cars at monster truck shows (silently, of course).
Edit: here is the direct link. Yes, its electric, yes, it crushes cars. No gearbox, electric motor tied directly to the driveshaft.

That sucker's pumping 504kW according to the guy that built it, and it only took them five weeks to build the thing... Sheesh

LOL watch the video - it sounds exactly like an RC truck! You can hear the esc whining. (video on bottom of page linked above).
Rant: I was around when electric model planes were picked on mercilessly- even when my planes flew as good or better than some glow planes (i.e. astro cobalt powered 4-star 40 back in 1994. I won a fun fly with it, but people still said "just wait until electric is a little cheaper/easier/more flight time). Now electric rc is common, but I still get picked on for my hybrid car, even though I give people rides to work and they say it drives nicely, and I get 55 mpg (new prius).
Anyway, I think in 5 - 10 years full electric cars will be as common as electric rc- not for everybody, but definitely more accepted.
