So.. How does one get their slicko to be so "snappy" is it the rigidity of the airframe? My slick has gotten slightly warped over time.. I'm thinking of doing some reinforcements.

Indeed it is the rigidity of the airframe that makes it snappy. I can't recall, do you have the carbon reinforcement kit installed? The kit makes the wing really rigid taking out a lot of twist and flex. If you have it installed you can go through the plane and make sure all carbon/epp joints are still glued strong. Also make sure your motor mount isn't loose and control linkage is all tight. If needed you can break free the trussing (epp or carbon) straighten the plane up and re-glue to take out any warps. EPP will soften over time do to the weather elements and use/abuse. A well braced plane (like the slicko) will not deteriorate as quickly as one without proper bracing, but you will still notice the effects over hundreds of flights. Some strategically placed carbon fiber on the control surfaces can help if they are twisting.

Here is a video of me stress testing the Slicko II prototype #7. I'm on the throttle throwing it around (really been thrashing the poor thing). I'm also testing some new digitial servos. I'm really happy with the Slicko II, a few more tweaks and I think it's there.

Edit, new video with the correct date and some added music.

Thanks! That's printed, I'm still tweaking the stock colors/graphics.

Thanks! I finally got my Slicko V1 kit's sorted out with the foam cutter. I'll probably offer the V1 as white only, since I can't keep up with the painting on it. The V2 will most likely be printed only for now.

The graphics look really nice and your flying doesnt seem bothered by the cold, got that white stuff on the ground here to but unfortunately the -5 temps and 20mph+ winds have kept the slickos from flying in the yard... brrrrrrrrrr its cold.

-5 yikes. It was a blistering 15 degrees when I was flying. I had my knitted gloves and a beanie with my ball cap cam on top of it. My neighbors think I'm silly.

First Flight Slicko V2

This was from last year but it was my first flight with v2 proto. I flew it at a local track indoors as well and have tried a few set ups in it but its really nice with the xt2206 and 9x4.7 prop on 2s. Currently with temps below zero and hefty winds i haven't done much flying lately though.

Nothing like the sounds of a prop under stress in the morning! Great videos! You're taking indoor flight to a new level. Table take-offs/landings and a tour of the house. nice..

Here is Joe Smith flying a friends Slicko at an event. Joe really liked flying the Slicko and will soon be a proud owner. Great guy and an amazing pilot!

Thanks Joe and Andy!
