The Tri Fighter

I know I've breached this subject before, but now that you have seen that I can build something that looks like a plane , maybe we can toss around some ideas about how it CAN work. What would be the best FIGHTERS with a 2 and 1 jet set up? YES ..I mean 3 edf units . I know we will get into amp draw and power to weight ratios and all that....but let's first get a grasp of the design. ANYONE WANT IN??? Can be a 1 nation fighter or an open world mix...whatever.

Space 1...Thanx for input, but I don't think that a Superman doll has 3 EDF units ,or is a FIGHTER Jet. Neither is the space shuttle or a bird. LOL...I'm sure that they were all great projects to build and fly....but not on topic of a TRI FIGHTER. I'm looking for a 2 fighter combo that has 3 EDF units. Let's keep trying guys.

Rogue, if your really wanting to put 3 edf's on a fighter. Just build a twin, and then throw a 3rd one on top. You could put it in a nacelle on the vert stabilizer like airliners do it. I have a feeling it would need to be quite large though to support the weight of 3 edf's/ motors/ speed controls, as well as a battery big enough to give you more than 30 second flight times. I guess you could always use smaller fans, like 3 55's or something. Or just put 3 of efflux rc metal fans on there. 6kw and like 15lbs of thrust.

Good one Stu..LOL...but not quite . Space 1....open world mix means blending countries jets...not DRONES. As I explained, it is a Combo of 2 fighter jets, any 2 fighter planes that equal 3 EDFs. LOL...Not a hard concept to grasp!

Stinger...Your right in-line with my thoughts on design. Take an F15 and flip a F16 intake between the 2 tail fins. So there would be 2 side-by and 1 over top. Definitely was thinking smaller fans, lol....otherwise it would be very large. I have a really good grip on design, even for electronics air cooling. Just need to keep bouncing ideas around. Keep up the input.

Ok,how about clustering your 3 fans together,so they are touching each other.3 scooped inlets around a fuse and.......ONE tail pipe.

You could, but wouldn't that just be like 1 large EDF?? I think it would be more efficient with 3 seperate ducting sets. Now we are thinking!!!

How about bring the three ducts together at the tail, but inline.Angled upright fin either side,delta-ish wing mounted on the centre line.
