It depends on the engine and its cost.
A good outruner engine competes with a good engine inruner.
We can not compare a Turnigy L2825, 97 g. 13.26 dlls against a het 2-25, 110 g of 70 dlls.

Neither the massive turnigy T600, 373 g, 59 dlls. vs Neu 1521, 474 g, 320 dlls.

Ordered one to test as well, should get within 12-30 days per my shipping receipt.

Hopefully it'll be louder than my current CS10 in my FMS F-16!

I doubt it , more blades = even less noise . One way to make it louder - UNbalance it .

+1... Some of mine when balanced are too quiet so as I intentionally didn't balance one of them fully for my RC Lander Panther...
Some will disagree I am sure....

RC Lander F9F-2 CS10 L2855-2300kv 5S (4 min 17 sec)

EDIT: This is the 10Blade fan. I just realised that this was the 12blade thread.

Nothing is cooler than a super quiet EDF, IMO.
It's tempting to put something in the exhaust stream to make even more "wooosh" but that's the model airplane equivelant of putting a baseball card in the spokes of your bicycle...and probably tacky.

I ordered one up myself...I also have my first 10 Blade on the way so I'm kinda late to this party. I'll share whatever I learn as well.

I think that white noise can be created easily at the intake as well, but I don't know which would affect performance more.

+1, especially if you have a big cavity in front of the fan a piece of foam wont disrupt the air that much before it hits the fans intakes
