Decided to go with twin struts after reading this build thread . I have most of my hardware for the build, i will be running counter rotating drives running on 6s. At this stage I am trying to work out how much room to leave between the prop shafts. I have to work out what will be the biggest diameter prop that I might use and then I can use this to set the distance for the struts. I am looking for around 50 to 60 mph.

How did your build go ? the pics you posted were of some of my Apache hulls built by friends, the twin electric ran very well with 57 mm props 52 mph on 6 s so not inefficient as someone commented especially when you consider the size of the motors used 600 size heli motors.
The blue hull with twin arnesons used an inline gas motor k600 rcmk through a 1.1 ratio cr gearbox to twin 67 mm props turning outwards and runs 70 mph.
Heres the twin electric ..
Welcome onboard my 58" rc boat (8 min 14 sec)
