Forget LED's.
Probably they're only useless when upgrading firmware - so you will know that board entered bootloader mode...

Anyway, i think there's even better way - use configurator: http://code.google.com/p/naze32confi...downloads/list
Just ask for new version from nicodh (PM or on IRC) - this one is a bit old. Everything is here - firmware upgrade, feature switch, etc. Versions for windows and for android.... Just use it.

The link you gave only has the android version so I googled a bit and got this.
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1667516
Last updated 3 months ago so its not that terribly old I hope.
Sure looks simple enough, I already had hercules and SMT, but if this works, all the better.
Thanks for pointing out its existence.

And youre right, I suppose I dont need the autolevel or arm LED anyway,
since the switches on my remote would indicate their current states already.
Im sure this thing has a way of signalling while trimming ACC and such.

Ok well heres the whatsup from timecop himself about the LEDs, and its even stranger then expected.
The missing led is the green one (arming indicator), and the red LED only comes on if the barometer is activated.
So all its got is a power and barometer indicator. I can see if its armed by looking at my remotes switches,
but trimming ACC will be unpleasant I suppose, since there also isnt a place to connect a buzzer.

If it was as simple as multiwii code, I could just think of my own LED assignments.
Ill have to look into possibly messing with the firmware to get the red LED reassigned to take over the green LEDs function.
I can go without the ACC indicator, but with no "confirm" LED its a bit hard to see what you are doing.

Also, does anyone have an idea why theres a "throttle" port on this board?
It seems to have a separate PPM port already so thats not it.

Follow Up
Haha this timecop guy, he really is something.
I asked him if swapping led indexes is possible, to which he replies he will add this function into the CLI of future firmwares.
He's going to look at it tomorrow and will roll it out soon, so no more reason for me to fuss over LEDs.

"THR" is an unused fifth output btw. So I can even have a special feature on my quaddy later.

Autolevel, not baro.

This was my idea - as i told before, this board was designed for gliders/airplanes. Small form factor, fits even for DLG (that's why it got baro - should work as vario), PPM input, flaperons/rudder/elevator/throttle outputs. It wasn't designed as quad controller, but could be used as quad controller.

Timecop himself said the red led comes on with the barometer, so either him or you are mistaken.
Doesn't matter though, soon it ll be a trim/arm light on my board anyway.

So.. Is this the famous board that auto thermalled 5000 feet or so?
I remember seeing a video of a glider that went up a mountain all on its own.
If its really that effective it could be fun for FPV thermal.
Is there a thread about it somewhere on it being used for intended purposes?

I have this board 30cm in front of me...
Anyway, nobody cares.

Yes, long discussions on IRC. So far it's unusable as autonomous glider controller. Yet...

LED thing is already resolved so nothing to care about indeed.

Such a shame the autonomous thermalling didn't pan out.
Normally id have no interest in gliders but with something like that, even I could do it.
Simply flipping a switch to gain altitude and then enjoying the gentle FPV float down sounds divine,
and it could last all day if its a good hot summer.

What's the problem?
Code is here:
code.google.com/p/afrodevices/source/browse/#svn%2Ftrunk%2Fbaseflight
Write patch (or just port that from thermopilot) and... Enjoy your flight ;-)

Oh? I thought you said it was unusable as a autonomous thermal controller?
Did someone else get it to work?

Haha look at that. 3 times the sensors, 1/5th the size. Cant wait to get mine.
So what crazy scheme are you planning, Wiseduck?

I have NO idea where I'll use this. I just felt I had to get one!

Probably on a future quad or something. Or maybe in the Aquacopter frame? I mean, this little thing should be just as good as any other FC. I just need to fetch my FTDI adapter and re-flash it. I'll do that this evening.

From what I understood, timecop shoved the latest firmware on it already.
And ha, I know what you mean, I have way too many multicopters, its addictive (and almost as expensive as drugs!).
Ive seen the aquacopter, the idea is awesome, the 120 dollar pricetag a little less awesome.
For that kinda money id rather buy the miniDexx waterproof 19cm quadopter.
That thing is full on carbonfiber though, I wish hed make a cheap fiberglass one.

My plan for this wee little board is a 1 celled 12cm diameter quadcopter with FPV gear onboard.
I'll be chasing my friends in the gym hall with my flying beercoaster this winter.

I wonder what I should do with the barometer though. Would shrinktubing it ontop of my equally small receiver,
along with a small square of microphone foam ontop of the barometer and then cutting a square out over it do the trick?

I have no idea. I personally won't try to get better performance out of the barometer. You sure he has put the latest firmware on these? 2.1?
