Silkspan and not-dope
Hi All,
I've just finished planking my Fantail Launch (my first plank-on-frame hull). I'd like to try Pat Tritle's drywall mud, silkspan, and dope method for finishing the hull. But before I stock up on dope and thinner and buy new cartridges for my respirator mask, I have a question. Can you do the silkspan treatment with something less noxious, like one of the water-based polyurethanes? Anybody tried this? Pat, are you out there? Thanks. Joe |
