Looks like it got up to a balmy 35F (was in the teens recently), wind maybe 5~6mph; whole field was covered in snow. After a few 2-ish minute flights I got myself in a real hat sucker of a thermal shortly after launch and rode it up a few hundred feet. I cruised over to some houses and found some steady lift that kept me up for the remainder of the flight.

The clouds came up toward the end of the flight, and I got cold standing still so I decided to pack it in. Sun is back out now, but I am at home happily sipping a warm cup of tea I might've flown more, but I got twice as long a flight as last year, which was warmer and no snow on the field (but with a 2m Gentle Lady).

Hi and welcome from the UK.

My club flew at our field in South Lincolnshire this morning. It was bright and breezy with a steady 15mph wind from the SW. It was a little chilly, just being above freezing. Landing was interesting as we have had a lot of rain and the field had large patches of water on the landing approach.

Flight times are as follows

Graham Gilliatt - Eliminator 100" - 5 mins 40 seconds
Neville Warby - OD 100" model - 4 mins 30 seconds

Off a highstart.

It was mostly overcast with 5-10 kt winds, but temp was in the low 50s. Better than the rain that was forecast though! Several cycles of zero sink with occasional bubbles of actual climb for 3 or 4 turns. The wind was just right for launches though, we were lifting all but the last 10 feet of bungee off the ground, and getting some zoom too. Lots of 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 minute flights. Had a great time.

Great Job, Charlie and Joe...
Flew with the Downey Bunch. Cold, overcast conditions in SoCal with strong north east winds at altitude. On the drive back home it looked better in Orange County but it proved to be a short weak soaring day in Southern California.

Jrs, a little fun. Mostly frustrated, though, because I only got about 10 very short flights all day, and that's counting the Radian's flights.
